Here we are ready to go.
Here is a picture of my bike ready to go.
The wind was almost always from the back and left side so you could never relax while riding. Also to add to the mix, there is a lot of road construction on I-29. The road was not blocked and there were no stoppages but just a lot of lane changes and slowdowns which reduced our progress.
When we did the lane changes, the traffic was merged so that southbound lanes were used for both north and southbound traffic. This was not a big dial until a southbound semi truck passed us going the other way and they created a huge blast of wind that would push us all over our lane. More fun on this riding adventure.
As we drove north on I-29, we were very close to the Missouri River and there was lots of flooded areas along the Interstate. There were farm fields flooded, roads overrun with water and when we stopped for lunch, the National Guard was directing traffic as they were hauling a lot of sandbags on trucks to places to prevent flooding. What a mess.
Picture of the flooded areas.
One turbine blade on the trailer.
We have ridden about 576 miles today in spite of the wind and heat. Another day in Paradise.
I think that is all for today.
Going to bed.
Mike
